Sorry for the delay in posting. My family has been extremely busy for the last few weeks, and I have done everything in my power to stay current in our classroom. Unfortunately the blog was the first thing to lag behind a bit.
We are back in full swing with a five day week this week. Some of us are a little tired already! Hopefully we can all pull through for a few more days! :)
Our story this week is Owl and the Moon by Arnold Lobel. It is a fictional piece and we are using it as a springboard to talking about friendship. Our elementary school has starting a garden of kindness in the cafeteria. The students and staff will be writing kind things that others in the school have done for them on flowers, bugs, butterflies, etc. and posting them on a bulletin board that was created by Mrs. Hanson. If you are in the building you will have to stop by and take a look!
We are working on the long i sound this week as well as drawing conclusions when we read.
In math we are starting fractions and continuting to work on money.
We are getting VERY low on a few supplies in class, namely Kleenex and glue sticks. Please try to send a box of Kleenex and a package of glue sticks to school as soon as possible.
Have a great week!
